IMPORTANT DECISIONS

When making important decisions, don't do what I did a long time ago. I was young and thought I was in love. I went to God and asked Him if I should marry the man I have been dating for a while. God said to me loudly and clearly, "No!" It wasn't an audible voice but I heard it in my spirit. God knew this man was bad news. What did I do? I married the man and it was the most terrible mistake I ever made in my life. There were times I felt I was in hell itself and he was the devil. God did warn me. Several years later the marriage ended badly. I felt ashamed and forced myself to stay longer than I wanted.

When we make decisions we need God's wisdom and His guidance. We need to ask Him to reveal to us what is His will and most of all to be obedient and follow His direction to the letter. We will never fail. That is what the apostles in Acts 1:23-25 did. They went to God to ask Him to help them nominate another apostle since Judas no longer was there. They prayed, "O Lord, You know every heart. Show us which of these men You have chosen to take over this apostolic ministry." God did and He will do the same for us too. I trust Him to guide me safely through this life no matter where it leads.

HOW TO DESTROY STRONGHOLDS IN OUR LIVES

STRONGHOLDS

What are the strongholds in our lives? Strongholds depict a fortified military stronghold or fortress; it can mean anything we rely on, according to (G.3794); for example human reasoning and false arguments. Spiritual strongholds are lies that the enemy uses to penetrate our minds. They are accusatory attacks against us perpetrated by our enemy, to bombard our souls. He is the oppressor who is strategically building a fortress in our thought lives. His plan is to hold us captive as a prisoner or slave in his fortress.

A mental stronghold is where we are bound by force in an area of our lives. This area of sin opens the door to the enemy which consequently gives him a foothold in our lives. Only God and His wisdom can help us to extricate ourselves from the enemy's control. With God's help, we can remove the old standard of thinking, attitudes, and behaviors. Instead of thinking, "I am worthless and no one loves me, which is lie from hell, we are to renew our minds on, "God loves me with an everlasting love and I am complete and perfect in Him." We can thank God for freedom, forgiveness and destroying any power the enemy has on us. So I declare, every stronghold over us, destroyed and remain broken, in Jesus' Name.

THE POWER OF THE TONGUE

The Word of God stated: "Death and Life are in the power of the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit." (Prov.18:21). Whatever we plant in our soul will bear fruit, fruit that will justify us or condemn us. Apostle James, stated, that the tongue is as a flame of fire. It can do tremendous damage. It is full of wickedness and poisons every part of our bodies if we do not control it. Our tongue can turn our lives into destruction and disaster and it is difficult to train. 

For those of us who have control over our tongue, we have control over our lives. Our tongues have started wars, have destroyed relationships, and have caused the curse upon ourselves: bitterness, selfishness, and jealousy are some of the areas where our tongue can defile us. It is said, to be set on fire by hell. Our tongue we use at times to bless God and simultaneously curse others, who are made in God's image as we are. 

Can a spring gush fresh water and bitter water in the same opening? It can't yield both salt water and fresh water at the same time. Let us strive to guard our soul and our tongue with diligence and let love be always our motivation.

THE MARIJUANA HOAX

There are 23 States plus the District of Columbia that have legalized marijuana for medicinal purposes. Marijuana is an addictive drug especially to our children and my concern is, that this new wave will make it easier and more accessible and available to them. My brother was twelve years old when he was first indoctrinated by two of his classmates, who were pushers. My brother was a good kid, served in church and was a boy-scout but was an easy target because of his introverted personality and maybe insecurities. 

Later, it lead him down a rabbit hole to other hardcore drugs: cocaine and black cocaine and marijuana laced with other substances. My brother committed suicide at age 21, however, illegal drugs did not kill him but another substance. It certainly compounded my brother's emotional well-being and psychological state. Marijuana has negative effects on the young brain. 

The reports of the use of marijuana as medicine is still uncertain, even to the FDA and with any drug it has side-effects despite the endorsements from its users. The fact is, there are detrimental and long-term damage and effects on children's brain and on their mental and emotional state. Teens aggression escalates and it encourages additional risky behaviors.

GOOD FRIDAY
Some call "Good Friday", Holy Friday, Great Friday and Sorrowful Friday but what does it really mean? Good Friday is the events that lead up to the crucifixion of our Lord Jesus. The Passion movie attempted to give viewers a bird's eye view of what Jesus had to endure for the sins of the world. It is paled in comparison to the torture, shame, condemnation, mockery, beatings, false accusations and abandonment by His followers. He was sentenced to death (capital punishment) by religious leaders of the time. The Anointed One came to demonstrate His love for sinners who were entirely helpless, weak and powerless to help themselves. He proved God's passionate love for us by dying in our place while we were still lost and ungodly. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we will never experience the wrath of God. God sent His only Son that whosoever believes in Him will not die but have eternal life. He did not send His son to condemn us but to save us. God saw that His plan was good and blessed it-The Plan of Salvation, which was consecrated by the shedding of Jesus' blood on the Cross and to bring hope, love and peace to mankind.
